ISLAMABAD: Hashim’s – an accused in assassination on Barrister Fahad Malik – plea has been rejected by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) and sent him to jail on judicial remand till November 17.
The accused was produced before an ATC Judge – Justice Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi – on the seven-day physical remand’s completion amid tight security. The court was requested by police that the physical remand’s period should be extended from seven days to fourteen days as further investigation was required.
The plaintiff’s counsel said that the other two nominated accused were already in jail and questioned the basis for the remand’s extension – on which the police’s request was denied and the accused was sent to prison (Adyala jail) till November 17.
Furthermore, the court also ordered the authorities concerned to release the personal vehicles of the plaintiff and deceased on personal surety.
